Dogfighting is a cruel & brutal sport that claims the lives of over 250,000 innocent dogs every year. To help put an end to the estimated 40,000 individual dogfighters perpetrating this extreme cruelty for profit, HSUS & the LA County District Attorney's office have launched a 24 hour anonymous tip line, 1-888-NO2-FITE. California citizens who have any information or suspicion of dogfighting can call the tip line day or night and report a tip, their identity will be protected. The tip line is a phone line only (no emails) with Spanish and English speaking operators available.
Dogfighting is a felony in all 50 states, even being a spectator at a dogfight or cockfight is punishable by law and prison time. Any individual that provides information leading to the arrest of dogfighters is eligible for a cash reward of up to 5,000 dollars. Since launching in 2009, the tip line has already saved lives. The tip line serves the following communities: Los Angeles County, Riverside County, San Bernadino County, Ventura County, Orange County, San Diego County. Citizens witnessing a dog fight should call 911.
